About the Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell
Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of Bharathidasn University was established in the year 2016 to ensure a safe, secure, and respectful environment within educational institutions and workplaces. It serves as a formal mechanism for addressing complaints of sexual harassment, providing victims with a platform for redressal while maintaining confidentiality and fairness with legal mandates such as the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act, 2013. Moreover, the cell plays an important role in creating awareness, conducting sensitization programs, and fostering a culture of zero tolerance towards any form of sexual misconduct in the Campus.

Internal Complaints Committee-Bhrathidasan University (ICC-BDU)
Bharathidasan University has constituted the Internal Complaints Committee as per the requirements of Sexual Harassment at Work Places (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) 2013 Act during March 2016.
Goal : "No woman shall be subjected to sexual harassment at any workplace." Section 3(1) of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
Objectives
- Promoting a culture of zero tolerance towards sexual harassment and related misconduct.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive policy against sexual harassment.
- Create awareness and implement proactive measures to prevent incidents of sexual harassment on campus to ensure a safe, secure, and gender-sensitive environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- Act as the formal Redressal body for receiving and addressing complaints of sexual harassment as per Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
- Organizes regular workshops, seminars, and training programs to raise awareness about sexual harassment and gender sensitivity.
