ABOUT THE CENTRE
Centre for Geographic Information Technologies (CGIT) in School of
Geosciences was established by the Syndicate of Bharathidasan
University in July, 2008. An exclusive GI Technologies
infrastructure was operated in the name of Geographic Information
Technology (GIT) Laboratory under Department of Geology, School of
Geosciences, Bharathidasan University from Sep. 2005. In order to
cope-up with the future requirements, University feels that the
Centre for Geographic Information Technologies (CGIT) is essential
and hence established the centre in July 2008.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
One
year certificate course in GI Technologies is being offered by
Centre for Geographic Information Technologies (CGIT) as add-on
program to regular students of Bharathidasn University. This course
is sponsored by UGC. This course gets 30 credits out of which 20
credit for theory and practical and 10 for Project / Training /
Field Work.
ADMISSIONS
The
centre is offering one year certificate course in GI Technologies as
Career Oriented Programme (Add-on mode) to regular students from the
year 2009-10. Admission procure will be started at the end of August
2009.
