Academic Programmes

Steps were taken to design syllabi for the courses at the Certificate\Diploma level, Non Major Elective level and at the Preliminary preparation of Doctoral researches. So far 9 students have obtained their Diploma in Periyarism, at this centre. Six Scholars are currently pursuing Doctoral researches at the Centre.

Three students from science disciplines studied a paper titled "Periyar's Feminism" (பெரியார் பெண்ணீயம்) under Extra Disciplinary Course (Non Major Elective);

The Centre for Periyar Studies has planned to select the best books published on Thanthai Periyar and prize the author every year. It is also planned to award the best individual who imparts the thoughts of Thanthai Periyar to the Public, every year. Moreover translating Periyar’s books into various languages has been encouraged. Rationalistic thoughts are inculcated among the students by conducting competitions and workshop.
