Research Interest

Our research is highly focused on finding a new catalyst for activation and functionalization of industrially (commercially) most important small molecules such as N2, H2, O2, NO, N2O, CO, CO2 and hydrocarbons. Extensively we do catalysis in homogeneous fashion in aquas and non-aquas media. We also use the Quantum chemical calculations to understand the reaction mechanisms and to play an important role in facilitating the testing of conceptual ideas and the ranking of possible metal complexes most likely to be effective catalysts.

Further research in our laboratory is intended for developing new methodologies for synthesis of new materials via insertion of unsaturated Organic/Inorganic molecules between M-C, M-H, M-N and M-O bonds.
