BIO-INORGANIC CHEMISTRY

Aimed at Research students and young teachers

The School will focus on basic principles of Bioinorganic Chemistry such as (a) Interactions of Metal Complex with DNA (b) Bioinorganic Chemistry of Photosynthesis and Redox Active Systems (c) Metal ion containing enzymes (d) Porphyrin Ring Systems (e) Bioinorganic Chemistry of metals like Copper, Iron, Molybdenum and Vanadium and (f) Medicinal Bioinorganic Chemistry. Besides lectures the School will include some experimental demonstrations as well.

 

The lectures will be delivered by eminent Faculty/Experts drawn from IITs, IISc, TIFR and Major Universities. The experts will share with the students their recent and important research achievements in order to motivate the students.

There is no registration fee. Local hospitality and travel support (Sleeper Class) will be provided to all selected participants. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply to the Coordinator on a plain paper giving bio-data, full contact address including e-mail and fax, and the nature of research work/teaching being undertaken. The Ph.D. students should forward their applications through their Research Supervisors along with a short write up on the reasons for the candidate's interest in the Winter School.

The applications should reach Tiruchirappalli latest by October 15, 2002.
