Department of Chemistry
The School has introduced the popular Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) from the year 2002 - 2003 for the two years M.Sc. (Chemistry) program initiated in 1987 to enable the students to orient their skills to a directionalized academic program. This program also allows students to enjoy both horizontal and vertical mobility in acquiring knowledge and skill from different disciplines. As a part of CBCS the School offers courses to the PG students of other Departments also. A few courses are also offered to the PG students of affiliated colleges during the week end. Project work and seminars during second year are the compulsory components of the course of study. The content of the PG Syllabus of this program is very strong and is revised periodically. The ultimate and most significant contribution of the School is that our past M.Sc. students occupy senior level/postdoctoral positions in research/teaching Institutes/Universities in India and abroad. Placement interviews for M.Sc. students are being arranged periodically in the School by reputed Chemical/Pharmaceutical companies like Orchid, Dr. Reddy’s lab, Biosys, SRF etc.
