Profile


Dr. M. Govindaraju received his B.Sc., degree in Zoology from University of Madras and completed his M.S in Ecology and M.Phil, degree at Pondicherry University and awarded Ph.D., by Anna University, Chennai, India. He has eight years of research experience as JRF, SRF and RA. Also ten years of teaching experience as Assistant Professor till date. His area of research interest includes development Ecological Restoration, Climate Change Studies, Health GIS, EIA and Urban Ecology with the application of remote sensing and GIS with emphasis on the development of Bio-Spatial Technology towards sustainable environment. He has more than thirty research papers in international and national peer-reviewed journals and eleven papers as monographs in books. As on to-date, he has guided 4 Ph.D., degrees, 12 M.Phil ., degrees, and 19 M.Sc., dissertations covering different environmental aspects with scientific solutions. At present, 8 Ph.D., students were working under his guidance with sophisticated instruments and software’s related to spatial technologies. He also completed several major research projects funded by DST, ICMR, UGC, NRDMS as principal investigator.
