Doctoral Research

Doctoral research programme forms yet another major activity of the Centre and 31 candidates are working on various aspects of Remote Sensing and GIS modeling in the areas of

  • Mineral and hydrocarbon habitat mapping
  • Lineament analysis and building up of models on Precambrian tectonic evolution and their relation to various geological resources and disasters
  • Neo-Active tectonic mapping using various geological, geomorphological, geophysical and hydrological anomalies
  • Modeling of modern geological processes and their control over natural resources, ecosystems and natural disasters
  • Fluvial geomorphology and fluvial dynamics, coastal geomorphology and land – ocean interactive dynamics and ecosystems
  • Water resources targeting and management
  • Natural disaster mapping and management (Seismicities, Landslies, Flood, Tsunami, etc.)
  • Creation of Spatial Decision Support System for developmental planning, etc.
So far 22 candidates have completed the Doctoral research and about 27 candidates are currently doing Doctoral research (see Ph. D. Alumni).
