Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
The Bharathidasan University established its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 08-05-2003. As a facilitative and participative organ of the University, the IQAC acts as a driving force for ushering in quality and plans, guides and monitors quality assurance and quality enhancement activities of the University.
The IQAC of the Bharathidasan University is constituted under the chairmanship of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, and is assisted by a Director (Prof.S. Rajasekar). Other members of the cell nominated by the Vice-Chancellor include senior teachers, a senior administrative officer and nominees from local society.
Since its inception, the IQAC of the Bharathidasan University is successfully functioning and involves in a variety of quality related activities in the University. The following are some of the important functions and activities: (i) Acting as a nodal agency of the University for quality related academic, administrative and financial activities, (ii) Developing and applying quality parameters for the academic and administrative activities of the University in terms of feedback from students and stake- holders, (iii) Preparing Annual Quality Assurance Report for submission to NAAC, (iv) Evaluating quality performance of the University through Academic and Administrative Audit Committee visits, (v) Preparing Self-Study Report for re-accreditation of the University and (vi) Dissemination of information on the different quality parameters for higher education and so on.
