About Bharathiar

சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதி 1882-ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் பதினொன்றாம் தேதி பிறந்தார். இவர் பாரதியார் என்றும், மகாகவி என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். பாரதி ஒரு கவிஞர், எழுத்தாளர், பத்திரிகையாசிரியர், விடுதலை வீரர், சமூக சீர்திருத்தவாதி என பல்வேறு பரிமாணங்கள் கொண்டவர். தமிழின் கவிதை மற்றும் உரைநடையில் தன்னிகரற்ற புலமை பெற்ற பேரறிவாளரும், நவீன தமிழ் கவிதைக்கு முன்னோடியும் ஆவார். தம் எழுத்துக்களின் வாயிலாக மக்களின் மனதில் விடுதலை உணர்வை ஊட்டியவர். இந்திய வரலாற்றின் திருப்பங்கள் நிறைந்த காலகட்டத்தில் வாழ்ந்தவர்.

Bharathiar, also known as Subramania Bharati, was a Tamil author, poet, journalist, Indian independence activist and social reformer born on the 11^th of December 1882. Acting as the pioneer of modern Tamil poetry, Subramania Bharati was given the title of “Mahakavi Bharati”, which means the Great Poet Bharathi. The Tamil poet is best known for his works in the field of emancipation of women, social reforms and his excellent literary works surrounding the idea of patriotism for India and the independence movement against the British Empire.

Bharathiar Chair of Bharathidasan University in association with the Centre for Bharathidasan Studies, Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies and National Service Scheme Cell organised an Enlightening Speech on “Mahakavi Subramania Bharathi’s Bharatham – An Exemplary Nation” on 15.11.2022 at the Convocation Hall of Bharathidasan University.

Dr. A. Lakshmi Prabha, Convenor, Bharathiar Chair and NSS Coordinator of Bharathidasan University welcomed the gathering. Prof. M. Selvam, Vice-Chancellor of Bharathidasan University presided over the function. During his presidential address, he said "Bharathiar is a national poet, his words are worthful for today also", "he awakened the youngsters through his poems".

The Chief Guest, Thavathiru Gurumaha Sannithanam, Kundrakudi Ponnambala Adigalar enlightened the audience about Bharathiar’s history and his relationship with V.O. Chidambaram, Mahatma Gandhi, freedom fighters and other national leaders. Dr. Gurumurthy, Senior Professor, Department of Commerce, Alagappa University offered felicitation. Dr. A. Palanisamy, Coordinator, Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Registrar, Prof. L. Ganesan, Controller of Examinations, Dr. Srinivasa Ragavan, Syndicate Member, Dr. M. Selvam, Professors of various departments and students participated in the programme.

பாரதிதாசன் பல்கலைக்கழக பாரதியார் இருக்கை பாரதிதாசன் உயராய்வு மையம், சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர் உயராய்வு மையம் மற்றும் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்டக் குழுமத்துடன் இணைந்து “மகாகவி சுப்ரமணியபாரதியின் பாரதம் - முன்மாதிரியான தேசம்” எனும் சிறப்பு சொற்பொழிவு 15.11.2022 அன்று பல்கலைக்கழக பட்டமளிப்பு விழா அரங்கில் நடத்தியது. பல்கலைக்கழக நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளரும் பாரதியார் இருக்கையின் தலைவருமான முனைவர் அ. இலக்குமி பிரபா அவர்கள் விழாவிற்கு வந்தவர்களை வரவேற்றார். பல்கலைக்கழக துணைவேந்தர், பேரா. ம. செல்வம் அவர்கள் தலைமையுரையாற்றினார். அவர் தமது உரையில் “பாரதியார் ஒரு தேசிய கவி என்றும் அவரது கவிதைகள் இன்றைக்கும் பொருந்தும் என்றும் பாரதியாரின் கவிதைகள் இளைஞர்களை தட்டி எழுப்பியது” என்றும் கூறினார்.

விழாவின் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர், தவத்திரு குருமகா சந்நிதானம், குன்றக்குடி பொன்னம்பல அடிகளார் அவர்கள் பாரதியாரின் வாழ்க்கைப் பற்றியும், கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன், வ.உ.சிதம்பரம், மகாத்மா காந்தி, சுதந்திர போராட்ட வீரர்கள் மற்றும் இதர தேசிய தலைவர்களுடனான தொடர்பு பற்றியும் விரிவாக எடுத்துரைத்தார். முனைவர் குருமூர்த்தி, மூத்த பேராசிரியர், அழகப்பா பல்கலைக்கழகம் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார். நிறைவாக சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர் உயராய்வு மைய ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர், முனைவர் அ. பழனிச்சாமி நன்றியுரை நல்கினார். விழாவில் பல்கலைக்கழக பதிவாளர், பேரா. லெ.கணேசன், தேர்வு நெறியாளர், முனைவர் சீனிவாச ராகவன், ஆட்சிக்குழு உறுப்பினர், முனைவர் எம். செல்வம், பல்வேறு துறைகளின் பேராசிரியர்கள், மாணாக்கர்கள் இவ்விழாவில் பங்கேற்றனர்.
