Centre for Data Science

The Bharathidasan University Center for Data Science is the Unique initiative to explores data-intensive applications that use scalable statistical and machine learning methods with Big Data and Cloud platforms in the process of discovering hidden insights from massive amounts of structured and unstructured data, using methods such as statistics, machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics. This multi-discipline area is changing the way organizations solve problems and gain competitive advantage.The center is engaged in developing the platform for solutions and to create eminent data Scientists on all of the aspects of big data, developing novel computational and statistical analyses of massive and complex data sets that arise in varied scientific and industrial applications.

Theme

The themes of the center thus revolve around the aspects and solutions of big data, new statistical methods for the analysis of high-dimensional data, fast and memory-efficient algorithms that leverage new parallel computer architectures, and broadly, data analytic solutions for challenging applications, network analysis,Bigdata Stack development, predictive modelling, IOT, Healthcare, Business Intelligence and bioinformatics.

•  The mission of the Center is to facilitate data science education, research and industrial collaboration.

Goals

•  To facilitate Certifications, data science education, research, industrial collaboration and other academia activity on emerging demands in Data Science.
•  Fosters collaborations across Data Sciences through focused working groups organized around specific research themes, research seminars, and other activities.
•  Develops and disseminates advance Data Science Solutions.
•  Execute continuous industry outreach efforts to engage companies across various sectors to participate in collaborative research and Projects.
•  Fosters collaborations with academic, industrial and government partners.
