About the Centre
The Government of Tamil Nadu, under Legislative Assembly Rule 110, passed resolution to setup the Centres for Swami Vivekananda Study in all 9 State Universities to inspire the student community for One's own Self-Development and Nation Building. To this effect the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, has issued a Government Order (G.O. No. 114) dated July 01, 2013.
In accordance with the mandates of the above order, the Bharathidasan University has taken many measures in terms of administrative, academic, infrastructre development and extension activities for the establishment and development of the Centre for Swami Vivekananda Studies. The Centre has established Research forums, Library collection of books on Vivekananda.
Activities
The centre would function as the nodal point in disseminating the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in terms of nationalism, righteousness, conduct, religious amity and intellectual ability.
The Centres have been mandated to conduct conferences, workshops and exhibitions.
Conductance of competitions among the college and university students on themes related to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
To encourage the students to write research articles, books and other create information Dissemination tools.
To encourage University departments to conduct interdisciplinary research on the message and life of Swami Vivekananda.
To encourage the arts and culture departments to organize and conduct cultural Competitions and programs on the messages of Swami Vivekananda.
To include the teachings of Swami Vivekananda in the University curriculum.
To award prizes and certificates to the students in the colleges and university departments Who follow and promote the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
To conduct certificate and diploma courses on Swami Vivekananda's thoughts on Personality development and Opinions of Swami Vivekananda on Nationalism
