The Department of library and Information Science faculty have been carrying out academic research and consultancy in the current areas which are relevant in adopting the recent technologies in library and information management. The thrust areas of research of DLIS is a blend of classical and modern areas of LIS viz Knowledge Classification, Indexing concepts and techniques, knowledge literacy, digital library, web technologies, E-learning practices, Library Use and User studies, Marketing of products and Information Industries and so an. The academic research in preparation of theses and dissertations and reports both on demand and in anticipation in terms of research projects consultancy and solutions in management of various libraries have been regularly carried out. University Grant Commission has awarded Major Research project to our department.
