Linnaeus Palme – Teacher Student Exchange Programme

Linneaus – Palme was a long- term exchange programme for teachers and students at postgraduate level of higher education. The programme was financed by SIDA, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and administrated by International Program office for Education and Training. The programme consisted of two main components: Linneaus; outbound teachers and students, and Palme; visiting foreign teachers and students. Funding was granted through scholarships for students and subsidies for teachers.

The Outcome of the program

  • Received four students from University West, Department of Social and Behavioural Studies to the Department of Social Work, Bharathidasan University, India for 75 days and did Course Works and Extension activities for 15 credits.
  • Four students from the Department of Social Work, Bharathidasan University got an opportunity to visit University West, Sweden to study for 105 days and did Course Works and Extension activities for 15 credits.
  • Swedish teachers taught Indian students and Indian teachers taught Swedish students for 20 hours
  • Teachers from both the countries shared their knowledge and expertise in the field of Social Work in the form of seminar and lectures.
  • There was real exchange of ideas, knowledge about culture and practices on either side.
