M.A Gender Studies

Any graduate with a degree from a recognized university is eligible to apply for this Master's programme in Gender Studies. The programme involves participatory learning, interaction, outreach and field practicum, participation in seminars, workshops, conferences at the national and international levels, class room lecture supplemented with field work realities and theory building, group work and exchanges among students with an academic background of Administration, Advocacy, Anthropology, Arts, Science, Engineering, Counseling, Education, History, Humanities, International Studies, Management, Commerce, Law, Library Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Public Health, Public policy, Social work, Sociology, and Language. Admission is followed as per the University norms.

M.Phil. in Gender Studies

The Department of Women’s Studies offers M.Phil course from 2009-10 onwards as per the University Guidelines. Eligibility for M.Phil admission is any P.G Degree from Science, Social Science, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Language and Literature, Management, Commerce, Education etc. There is a common paper on Teaching Skills which is done at Department of Education Technology.

Certificate/ Diploma/PG. Diploma in Life Skills and Management
The work culture, the kind of work environment, the fast moving social activities, all essentially create stress to people. The conventional curriculum had inbuilt components on value and life skills education. But now the society is changing and the students from different class, caste, regional and gender find it difficult to cope up with the challenges of the current issues both in family and outside. In order cater to the needs and offer coping skills, the Life Skills and Management course is offered.

Eligibility

Candidates who have completed Higher Secondary are eligible to apply for the Certificate course. The Certificate, Diploma and P.G Diploma courses involve respectively three, six and one year durations. Students who are doing U.G and P.G courses in the University and Colleges are welcome to do this course for additional credits and concurrent programmes as per the University norms. The classes are conducted either in the weekend or during week days evening hours as per the convenience of the candidates. It has both theoretical and practical components.

Certificate/ Diploma/P.G Diploma in Micro, Small Industries Development

Entrepreneurship and Self Employment are increasingly chosen by the educated youth as alternative income earning avenues. In order to impart Entrepreneurial Skill Education while doing their studies, Micro, Small Industries Management course is offered at Certificate, Diploma and P.G Diploma levels on part time basis and for additional credits. Both theoretical and practical inputs are given to prepare the students for Entrepreneurship and self employment. The eligibility is the same as mentioned above for the Life Skills and Management course.

Ph.D Programme in Women’s Studies

Faculty members in the Department are recognized to guide Ph.D in Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Economics, and Management. The admission to Ph.D programme is followed as per the University Guidelines which is available on the website.
