Academic Programmes

The Department of Women's Studies, Bharathidasan University, is one of the emerging Departments across the country to institutionalize and mainstream gender and inculcate Women’s Studies Perspectives into various academic disciplines. The Department endeavors to make a comprehensive study on gender issues and create gender sensitivity by introducing teaching programmes in the form of a postgraduate courses and advanced research and impart knowledge and sensitivity on existing gender inequalities and enable the students and scholars to revisit and their own disciplines with a gender perspective, revise the epistemology, methodology and syllabus with a women’s studies perspectives to be inclusive with the components hitherto excluded.
