Admission Procedure

All candidates seeking admission to 6 year integrated M.Tech. programs should have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (MPC) in Class XII. or equivalent qualifying examinations. In addition the requirements for various branches shall be as below:

M.Tech. Biotechnology
The candidates must have studied Biology (any branch) or Biotechnology

M.Tech. Computer Science
Preference will be given to candidates who have studied Computer Science in Class XII

M.Tech. Geological Technology & Geoinformatics
Preference will be given to candidates who have studied Biology (any branch)

An entrance test (both in Thamizh & English) followed by personal interview will be conducted by School of Engineering and Technology for admission to the 6year Integrated M. Tech. The entrance test will based on the basic knowledge of English, General Aptitude, Intelligence, Reasoning and Computer / Internet awareness of a candidate in addition to the respective branch domain in the M.Tech.. The entrance test will be of objective type. On the basis of the performance in the entrance test, candidates will be short-listed for personal interview. Both the performance in the entrance test and the interview will form the baseline to select a candidate for admission to this program. Documentary evidence of age, educational qualification, community, extra-curricular activities, etc., will be verified during the interview. The Tamil Nadu Government rules of communal reservation will be applied in the selection of candidates.
