About the Centre

As per G.O No. 40, Higher Education (K2) Department, dated 26/03/2012, the CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT was established at Bharathidasan University in June, 2013. The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development has been attached to the Department of Commerce and Financial Studies, School of Business Studies, Faculty of Management, Bharathidasan University, since September 2018. The Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre is responsible for coordinating all skill development efforts across the University, bridging the demand and supply of skilled workforce, building the vocational and technical training framework, upskilling, developing new skills, and promoting innovative thinking, not only for existing and potential jobs. The Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre also intends to work with the existing network of skill development centres, other universities and other alliances in the field. Further, collaborations with relevant State governments, International Organisations, Industry, and NGOs have been initiated to facilitate multi-level engagement and more impactful implementation of skill development efforts.

Mission

To develop and promote employability and entrepreneurship through Multidimensional Managerial, Technical, and Human Skill Development to enrich Inclusive Growth and industrial development.

Objectives

To inculcate a spirit of Entrepreneurship among students.
To organize specific training modules at regular intervals to cater to the needs of the students from varied backgrounds.
To offer certificate/diploma programmes in Entrepreneurship.
To offer consultancy services to the prospective entrepreneurs.
To undertake and promote Research & Development.

MoUs

MoU has been signed between Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Chennai and IECD, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli on 30th July 2013 for organizing Entrepreneurship Development Programmes at Tamil Nadu for the year 2013-2014.
