Fabrication and Servicing of Laboratory Equipment

Over a period of 44 (1978-2022) with the limited financial resources and supporting staff, the Central Workshop has been fulfilling most of the needs of the Science Departments of the University in their experimental research. Some of the specialized works being carried out include:
(i) Fabrication of non-standard equipment (not available in the market) and
(ii) Servicing and repairing o9f laboratory equipment. The Workshop has completed 3500 work orders relating the fabrication of different works, units of instruments, blowing of glass apparatus, repairing and servicing of laboratory equipment. In addition, the Workshop is carrying out utility services to the department and administration.

Teaching Programmes

(a) Diploma Courses
Also for the welfare of the students from the rural area, the Centre has been conducting two Diploma courses since 1994, and also offering the Workshop Practice course to M.Sc. students for the campus.
(i) Diploma in Machine Operator
(ii) Diploma in Laboratory Glasswares

(b) Non-Major Elective courses
(i) Basic computer aided drafting and Glass blowing practice
(ii) Workshop practice.
